Pyongyang hackers accused of $400m theft

North Korea has launched at least seven attacks on cryptocurrency platforms that extracted nearly $400m in digital assets last year, according to analysis by blockchain experts Chainalysis.

A UN panel has accused Pyongyang of using stolen funds to support its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.

The attackers used advanced techniques to siphon funds out of the digital wallets of organisations, including investment firms, and into North Korea-controlled addresses, the report said. North Korea has previously denied any hacking.
