CORRECTIONS

A story that said mice fed nitrite-cured pork developed “82% more tumours in the bowel” than the control group should have referred to tumours in the colon instead (Science, 6 January). It also said that mice fed a diet of processed meat containing nitrites developed “75% more cancerous tumours”; the figure relates specifically to tumours in the duodenum.
