Cost of debt

The charity Stepchange said suppliers can use debt collection agencies for customer who don’t pay bills. They can also get a court warrant to enter homes to fit a prepayment card meter. The charity said if customers fail to strike an agreement with a supplier to pay off an energy debt, the supplier can apply to a court for a warrant to enter their home to disconnect their supply.
