Seine rescue efforts seek way to free whale from lock
Efforts to feed a dangerously thin Beluga whale that strayed into the Seine River had failed so far and experts were trying to get the whale out of the river lock where it is stuck, environmentalists said on Monday.
The whale, which is thousands of kilometres from its usual habitat in the Arctic Ocean, was first spotted last Tuesday about 70km from Paris. “It’s quite emaciated,” Isabelle Dorliat-Pouzet, a police official in Normandy, said.
