The eagle has landed

A bird of prey that disappeared from Britain during the early 20th century has been spotted in Cornwall. The sighting of a white-tailed eagle gives conservationists hope that the species could breed in the south-west English county within the next 20 years. The juvenile bird – captured by amateur photographer Cat Lake on Bodmin Moor – is one of six released on the Isle of Wight as part of a programme run by the Roy Dennis Wildlife Foundation and Forestry England
