American singer who defined the sound of mid-century girl groups as the frontwoman of the Ronettes. She died on 12 January, aged 78.
Ibrahim Boubacar Keïta
President of Mali from September 2013 to August 2020, when he was forced to resign in a coup. He also served as Mali’s prime minister from February 1994 to February 2000. He died on 16 January, aged 76.
