Bolsonaro says vaccination ‘makes no sense for me’
More than 600,000 of his citizens have died in a Covid-19 outbreak he once dismissed as a “little flu”, but Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, has said that “it makes no sense” for him to be vaccinated.
“Why would I get vaccinated?” the 66-year-old populist told a right-wing radio station last week. He said his antibody levels were “sky high” because of a past infection. “It makes no sense.”
“It is a stupid and selfish decision,” said Natália Pasternak, head of a civil society group called the Question of Science Institute.
