Lawyers argue British royal protected from lawsuit
Lawyers for Prince Andrew argued in a New York court on Monday that he has not yet been properly served with documents related to a lawsuit alleging sexual assault. Virginia Roberts Giuffre alleges she was forced to have sex with the royal when she was 17 years old, which Andrew denies. David Boies, representing Giuffre, said the complaint had been “delivered to the last known address of the defendant” and sent “by Royal Mail”. Andrew B Brettler, representing the Duke of York, also alleged that Andrew may be protected by a previously sealed “secret settlement agreement”.
