Passengers arrive at London Gatwick airport on Monday after Covid quarantine restrictions on people arriving from the United States and most European countries were lifted. Under pressure from the cabinet and the travel industry, Boris Johnson also ditched plans for a new ‘amber watchlist’ to warn travellers which countries were at risk of going on to the red list – requiring 10 days of expensive hotel quarantine.
