American singer, best known the hit Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head, from the soundtrack of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. He died on 29 May, aged 78.

F Lee Bailey

American criminal lawyer who defended OJ Simpson, Patty Hearst and the Boston Strangler. He died on 3 June, aged 87.

Carla Fracci

Italian dancer, considered one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century. She died on 27 May, aged 84.

David Dushman

Soviet soldier, and the last surviving member of the Red Army who took part in the liberation of the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz in 1945. He died on 4 June, aged 98.
