The real Tel Aviv has more to offer than suggested

Re: A case of café culture that leaves a bitter taste (Letters, 30 April): this is certainly one of the most misleading letters I’ve read in the Guardian. Had Elizabeth Eastmond ever been to Tel Aviv, she would see chic Israelis, Muslims, Christians and Jews enjoying themselves. She’d see women and gay people on the town, which she would not see in any other Middle East and north African country. She’d see her apartheid concept is ridiculous. It is the Palestine Authority who are responsible for Arabs in the territories. Israel has no “military control”. There is no “occupation”. Len Bennett Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
