Museveni’s son named in abuse complaint to ICC
Lawyers acting for the victims of abductions and torture by security forces in Uganda have named senior military commanders, including the president’s son, in a complaint to the international criminal court (ICC). President Yoweri Museveni claimed victory in January’s election, which was marred by allegations of fraud and numerous deaths among opposition protesters. Lawyers, campaigners and victims blame the Special Forces Command military unit, for many of the abuses. The SFC is commanded by Museveni’s 47-year-old son, Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is among those named in the ICC complaint.
