Trapped battalion pleas for help to evacuate Azovstal steel plant

Members of Ukraine’s Azov battalion trapped inside the Azovstal steel plant said they feared they would be killed if captured by Russian forces, as they pleaded with Ukrainian authorities to help arrange their extraction. From inside the besieged steelworks, Lt Illya Samoilenko vowed to fight on, saying surrender would be a “gift” to the enemy.
